Ask anyone what this part of England does best and cider comes up almost as fast as beer. It's orchard country, and that runs alongside a brewing scene stretching from Bristol's warehouses and railway arches down through Somerset, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall to the coast.
Bristol has filled up with taprooms tucked into old industrial units over the years, while smaller harbour towns further west have their own breweries turning out pale ales built for a pint after a walk on the cliffs. Cornish and Devon brewers lean on local water and local grain, and more than a few make something that only really makes sense on a beach. A brewery or cider maker only has to drop a price for us to catch it, and this page shows that alongside everything else they've got on sale. Bottle shops and off-licences sit in the market towns between the cities, stocking a mix of local cans and the odd import from further afield. It's a big area to cover, and a good find down in Cornwall on a Tuesday might be long gone by the weekend, so it's worth checking back rather than assuming a price holds.
