St Austell was founded in 1851 and is still family-owned more than 170 years on. Walter Hicks began his career as a humble wine merchant and maltster before taking on the Seven Stars Inn in 1863. It now runs pubs right across the South West alongside the Cornwall brewery.
St Austell's core range runs from Tribute, their easy-drinking pale ale, through to the powerfully hopped Proper Job IPA and the crisp, clean Korev lager, alongside Anthem, Hicks and Mena Dhu Stout. Beyond the flagship favourites, they've got a more experimental side too: specialist brews that lean into Belgian-inspired classics and boundary-pushing Small Batch releases, plus limited-edition drops that sit outside the regular line-up. Whether you're after a reliable pint or something a bit more adventurous, there's a good spread here to work through.
