In 2019 founder Lawrence Bunning combined his passion for beer with space on the family farm and launched Hatherland. They brew at Hatherland Mill Farm at Lower Washfield near Tiverton in Devon, and the flagship is Sand Martin, a light pale ale. Farm-brewed in the proper sense.
Hatherland is a sustainable microbrewery at Hatherland Mill Farm in the Exe Valley, near Tiverton in Devon: local beer from local people, brewed with sustainability and a good price front of mind. Their beer is Sand Martin, a 4.7% light pale ale with fruity flavours and floral aromas, named after (and celebrating) a new colony of sand martins that set up home just 50 metres from the brewery itself. Small site, one beer, a genuinely nice story behind the name.
