Sixpenny Brewery

Cranborne, South West

Motivated by a love of real ale and an interest in home brewing, Scott Wayland launched his brewery in 2007 on a second-hand plant in Addlestone, Surrey. It moved to Sixpenny Handley on Cranborne Chase in 2009 and to Cranborne village in 2016. Taste of Dorset named it Best Brewer in 2015.

Sixpenny have been brewing real ales from their Cranborne base in Dorset since 2007. The core range runs from the light, biscuity Sixpenny Best (3.8%) and golden Sixpenny Gold (4.0%) up to their multi award-winning IPA (5.2%), brewed with four hop varieties for a full, hoppy character and a long malt finish. Alongside those they run a proper seasonal line-up: Cranborne Chaser, a delicately hopped mild, for spring; Rushmore Gold, built on citrusy New Zealand Nelson Sauvin hops, for summer; and the darker Sixpenny Black for autumn and winter.
