Brewed on the rugged North Cornwall coast, Tintagel Brewery was born from a love of great beer and the wild landscape that surrounds it. Established in 2009 by John and Liz Heard, its Caliburn took Champion Winter Beer of Britain in 2024.
Tintagel brew eight beers or so, from the English Pale Ale Sir Lancelot ("bold yet balanced, smooth but with a touch of sharpness") to Castle Gold and their flagship Old Ale, Caliburn. Black Jack Porter is a dark, full-bodied beer with roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and caramel notes, and there's a Barrel Aged Caliburn too. The beers have picked up recognition: a place in the Champion Beer of Britain 2025 finals, and Gold Awards at Taste of the West 2026 for Merlin's Muddle, Cornwall's Pride and King Arthur's Ale.
