Brewery
Southbourne, South West
Way Outback turned an old car garage in the heart of Southbourne into a micro brewery, and makes the beer right there. The site works as a taproom too, so you can drink what they brew where they brew it. Straightforward and thoroughly local, which is rather the point.
Way Outback Brewing Co is a microbrewery and taproom in Southbourne pouring a proper broad range - from clean, crisp session beers like the Swiss-style Aprés Ski lager and Björn Survivor, a kveik pale ale fermented hot for big tropical character, to Damm That's Lemon!, brewed with real Sorrento lemon juice. The barrel-aged end gets serious: Bumbling Along, a honey saison rested ten months in Conker gin barrels; Rum For The Hills, a prohibition porter aged in Appleton Estate rum barrels with Chilean raisins; and The Deep South, a doppelbock finished in Cotswold whiskey barrels for caramel and vanilla.
