Verdant started in autumn 2014 with someone saying 'let's try making some beer' on the sidelines of a five-a-side football match. It went rather well. The brewery is now in Penryn in Cornwall, known for hop-forward pale ales, IPAs and DIPAs, with a taproom there and a few other Cornish venues.
Verdant, down in Cornwall, build their range around consistent core beers alongside a forever-rotating line of hop-forward, flavour-driven seasonal and special releases. Lightbulb, a 4.5% Extra Pale Ale, is their best-selling pale, and Helles, a 4.8% Lager, is exactly what a lager should be, by their own description. Beyond the beer, Verdant talk a lot about community too: Brewing Folk is their cultural side, shaped by the music, stories and makers that inspire them. Brewed well, better shared.
