Breweries and bottle shops in Yorkshire and the Humber

CAMRA has called this region the 'UK's capital of brewing,' and spend any time around Sheffield, Leeds or York and it's easy to see why. Breweries here range from tiny railway-arch setups to familiar names you'd spot on a supermarket shelf, spread across steel-city industrial units, market towns and villages out towards the Dales and the coast. The Humber side adds its own ports-and-rivers character, with breweries around Hull and the East Riding doing their own thing away from the West Yorkshire crowds. Cask ale still has a strong following here, but so does everything newer, from hazy pales to barrel-aged stuff nobody would have stocked a decade back. This page pulls together what's genuinely on offer from the breweries and shops dotted across the region, not just a highlight reel. Bottle shops and taprooms are thick on the ground in the bigger cities and thinner but present out in the smaller towns. Given how many breweries call this part of the country home, there's usually something moving, and it's worth checking in rather than relying on a single visit to catch it.
