Stancill Brewery, founded in 2014 by Thomas Gill and Dr Adam Hague and named after its first head brewer, grew out of the 2013 closure of Barnsley's Oakwell Brewery, when the pair rescued the original brewing equipment and relocated to Sheffield for its softer Pennine water. Stancill Pilsner and Sheffield Lager sit alongside a revived Barnsley Bitter and other real ales.
