A vineyard and microbrewery in Nun Monkton, which began as a garden hobby with thirty-five vines and now runs to more than 29,000 of them alongside a twelve-barrel brewhouse. Family-run and independent: Gillian makes the wine, her son Tim brews the beer, and both are firmly Yorkshire in character.

Yorkshire Heart has been brewing since 2011, led by head brewer Tim and his team, reviving the village tradition of proper ale. The Core Range covers a lot of ground: Hearty Bitter is a classic, rich amber ale, malty and traditional; Blonde is their best-selling beer, easy-drinking and loved by everyone; Blackheart Stout is dark, roasted and smooth; and Rhu Bar is their famous rhubarb beer, tart, refreshing and unmistakably Yorkshire. A proper core range with something a bit different sitting alongside the classics.
