The Rivelin Inn

Independent pub · Sheffield

About the pub

The Rivelin Inn stands on Tofts Lane in Stannington, on the edge of Rivelin Valley in Sheffield, and calls itself one of the few proper country pubs in the city. Bradfield Farmers Blonde is the regular cask beer, alongside four changing beers. The building is on the Sheffield Local Inventory of Historic Pub Exteriors, keeping its original Gilmours step and 'Tap Room' and 'Smoke Room' windows, though the once multi-roomed interior is now opened out. Hand-made pies run on rotation, four at lunch and three in the evening, and Sunday lunch is served. The south-facing beer garden has views over the valley, a play area and free parking, and dogs are welcome. The pub pitches itself as a stop before or after a walk in the valley. Traditional music and a Thursday quiz night are part of the week.
