Started in 2013 with five grand in the bank and a damp cellar up north, which is about as good an origin story as craft beer gets. An independent brewery built on creativity, community and collaboration, with the stated ambition of making some of the best beer anywhere.

Northern Monk is now an independent, B Corp-certified outfit with venues across Leeds, Manchester, York, Edinburgh and Bradford. Recent releases include Above the Clouds, a hazy double IPA at 8%, the chocolate and maple imperial stout Heaven at 8.4%, and hazy pale ales Far Out (4.6%) and Fresh From The Old Flax Store (5.6%). New releases get their own section on the shop, alongside beers sorted by style: Hazy, IPA, Fruited, Stout and Lager among them.

UK mainland delivery is £5.95, free on orders over £50. The same rate and threshold apply to the Scottish Highlands and Islands, the Isle of Man and Northern Ireland.
