Brewery
Southminster, East of England
Wibblers Brewery, founded by Phil Wilcox, brews from a converted medieval barn in Southminster, Essex, producing cask ales, craft beers and seasonal specials. Its Apprentice bitter won Gold Standard at SIBA's East of England competition in 2011. Alongside brewing, it runs a taproom and kitchen, offers brewery tours, and hosts an annual beer, food and music festival each August.
Wibblers have been brewing award-winning traditional beers, craft lagers and cider in Essex since 1991. The core range includes a mid-brown, lightly hopped session ale and a properly complex recreation of an 1885 Ushers Stout, dark and balanced with plenty of English Fuggles: a beer that's picked up CAMRA's Champion Beer of Britain in the stout class. Come October and November they also brew a spicy red ale with Nelson Sauvin hops, fruity and only around for those two months.
