Proper beer for proper beer drinkers, in their own words: a group who grew up drinking, selling and eventually making real ale together. The stated aim is helping people relax and have fun, which is at least honest about what beer is for.

Carlisle Brewing Co proudly claim the title of the first brewery in Carlisle since 1987, starting out on a 2.5-barrel microbrewery before relocating to larger premises in October 2015. Beers have run from Spun Gold, Solway CAMRA's Beer of the Year, through Magic Number, a 4.5% premium bitter, to Citadel, a light, crisp and hoppy 3.8% session ale. They've also turned out a traditional Porter, a multi-hop International Pale Ale called The Experiment, a nutty Carlisle Nut Brown, and Herkules, a citrusy Kölsch lager.

UK delivery starts at £8 for one box, with £2 for each extra box. Local delivery to CA1–CA6 postcodes is £2.50. Free collection from the pub during opening hours. Allow 3–5 working days; courier orders go out weekly.
