The brewery was the inspiration of founder Trevor Jeffery, a lifelong beer lover and home brewer. The first beer, brewed in 2012, was Mayflower Gold, still a fan favourite and a regular SIBA award winner. A micropub opened next door in 2014, and new owners took over in 2024.
