Spookton Brew Co launched in summer 2022 as a contract brewer, with founder Jon Pugh, a homebrewer turned professional, brewing at Allendale Brewing Co before opening a taproom off Queen Street in Chester in March 2024. HMRC approval to brew on site followed, with production under way from summer 2024. Beers are vegan, and a donation from every pint or can goes to local charities.

Started life as a homebrewing passion project in 2022, running as a cuckoo brewery before Spookton got their own microbrewery and tap room in Chester in early 2024. Their thing is "humble beer from boastful people" - proper, flavourful craft beer they want new drinkers to actually enjoy, not feel intimidated by. On the beer front there's Human Error, a 6% hazy IPA, and Soft Launch, a 4% hazy pale. They also give 5p from every pint or can sold to local causes.
