A proudly independent family brewery in the Cotswold Hills, working out of a Victorian tower brewery: one of a small number of family-owned breweries left in the country. Traditional handcrafted heritage married to a fairly modern approach, with a shop, café and free museum on the site.
Hook Norton brew Hooky Mild and Double Stout through to Sundial IPA, Lock Steady and Merula Nitro Stout, made, as they put it, to the original 19th century recipe with a taste of tradition, refreshed. Alongside the classics sits Old Hooky Zero, their zero-alcohol, zero-gluten beer, voted Best No or Low Alcohol Beer: proof that "low alcohol, high flavour" isn't just a slogan here. Six beers, one long-running brewery, no messing about.
