Williams Bros started life in the humble Glenbrew homebrew shop in Glasgow back in 1988. Bruce and Scott Williams now brew at Alloa, and they are best known for reviving historic Scottish ales - Fraoch heather ale above all - alongside modern IPAs and stouts.
Williams Bros were named Scottish Brewery of the Year 2022, and brew an eclectic range of craft beer to go with it. Fraoch, their heather ale, comes in 33cl and 50cl bottles; Joker IPA is available in both bottles and cans. On the darker side there's March of the Penguins, described as a dark stout, and Midnight Sun, a porter. It's a wide-ranging line-up rather than a one-trick operation, with heather, hops and dark malt all getting a turn.
