Harviestoun have been at it since 1983, brewing in Alva at the foot of the Ochil Hills. They pair time-honoured brewing traditions with a real passion for flavour and quality, and around eighty percent of their malt is sourced locally. Schiehallion and Bitter & Twisted are the names you will know.
Harviestoun brew in Alva, Scotland, and describe themselves as an award-winning craft brewery whose beer travels round the world. The line-up covers a fair spread of styles: Schiehallion Lager (4.8%), Bitter & Twisted Golden Ale (3.8%), Old Engine Oil Craft Stout (6%) and The Ridge Pale Ale (5%): lager, ale and stout all present and correct, plus a Scottish Pilsner. Ola Dubh 12 and 18 Year Old (both 8%) are whisky-cask-aged stouts, and sit rather apart from everything else.
