SaltRock released their first beers in May 2021, though the ethos was born in late 2018 - disillusioned, as they put it, by a market saturated with beers moving further and further away from being beer in the traditional sense. Malt-forward, brewed near Dunfermline with locally grown barley.
SaltRock, based in Comrie, Dunfermline, set out to make beer with flavour and substance. Their beers are unfiltered, unfined and vegan friendly. The name nods to the founder's Irish-Scottish roots, a contraction of Saltire and Shamrock. They picked up Gold and Bronze at the SIBA Independent Beer Awards in December 2021, with Red Wagon going on to win National Gold in March 2022.
