Urban Island has been brewing in Portsmouth since 2014, and reckons it is as passionate about drinking beer as making it. The range is modern craft, built from a mix of traditional and newer brewing methods with good malt, hops and yeast. There is a taproom on site as well.
Urban Island's trophy cabinet includes Portsmouth & South East Hants CAMRA Brewery of the Year in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2024. The line-up runs from Astro Juice through New England and Daisy Chains on keg to Sunset and Mosaic on cask, plus the Porter 28: a broad, varied range across styles, which tracks with a brewery that says it enjoys mixing traditional and new brewing methods rather than sticking to one lane.
