Southsea Brewing's story started with a rare chance to convert a forgotten space inside the historic walls of Southsea Castle, built by Henry VIII back in 1544, into a working brewery. An unusual, history-soaked site for a modern craft brewer to call home.
Southsea lean firmly into IPA territory: Casemate at 5.4%, the New England-style It's the Fort that Counts at 6.2%, double dry-hopped X-Ray Spex at 5.8%, and a rare Black IPA in Lights Out at 5.2%. For something lighter there's Alpaca Pool Party, a 4.7% session New England pale. They also run a What's Fresh! collection of small-batch beers brewed with care, so there's usually something newer to try.
