Purple Moose is based in the historic harbour town of Porthmadog, nestled in the beautiful foothills of Snowdonia in North Wales. Lawrence Washington started homebrewing in 1995 and opened the brewery in 2005. Their beers have taken Gold in category at CAMRA's Champion Beer of Britain.
Purple Moose brew out of Betws-y-Coed and the historic harbour town of Porthmadog, and their beers have picked up over 100 major awards between them. The range runs from Snowdonia Ale and Glaslyn Ale to Black Rock Stout and Kolsch-style lager Mwsh, with EXCALIBEER, a legendary red ale cloaked in mist and Celtic fire, among the standouts. They mark occasions with seasonal one-offs too: Merry X-Moose for Christmas, and Opulence, brewed to celebrate 20 years of the brewery.
