Cader Ales is an independent micro-brewery that has been brewing since 2012 in the small Snowdonia town of Dolgellau, North Wales. A lovely one to know about if you like your beer with a real sense of place.
A husband-and-wife team set up Cader Ales in Dolgellau back in summer 2012, drawn together by a love of real ale and Southern Snowdonia's scenery. They hand-brew a small, carefully chosen range rather than chasing volume, turning out 5-10 nine-gallon casks a week. Flagship beers are Idris Bitter, a traditional soft bitter, and Cader Gold, a light hoppy ale, alongside Red Bandit, inspired by vintage ruby ale styles. They've even brewed a hoppy IPA specially for the Talyllyn Railway.
