Pheasantry was established in 2012 in converted farm buildings in Nottinghamshire, taking its name from the neighbouring cottage that was once an actual pheasantry. Twenty years in food manufacturing taught the founder the importance of quality and consistency, which is why the kit is some of the best in microbrewing.
Pheasantry Brewery has brewed at High Brecks Farm near Newark since 2012; brewing on the site is said to trace back to the late 1600s. Beers are made the traditional way, from malted barley, hops, water and yeast. The core range spans a fruity, hoppy Best Bitter (crowned Champion Bitter of Britain 2015), a vanilla-touched Pale Ale, English-hopped Ringneck Amber Ale, smooth Black Pheasant, malty Lincoln Tank Ale, bold Excitra Golden Ale and the peachy, dangerously drinkable Dancing Dragonfly, plus seasonal offerings through the year including Christmas IPA and a Harvest Ale.
