Malt Coast is two brothers brewing what they call a true expression of life on the coast - bracing seas, open skies and wild empty beaches. They're based at Branthill Farm near Wells-next-the-Sea in Norfolk, and the Maris Otter barley in the beer is grown on their own land.
Malt Coast makes a point of its farm-to-glass angle: the barley grows on sandy loam over chalk, in a spot shaped by low rainfall and spring sea mists. That runs through a range sold in cases of bottles: Pale Ale (4.2%), IPA (5.3%), Farm Table Saison (3.6%), Amber Ale (4.7%), Black IPA (5%), Lager (4.8%) and Session IPA (4.4%): a proper spread of styles from one small coastal outfit.
