A contemporary craft brewery based at the foot of the Chiltern Hills just outside London. Founded originally as Red Squirrel in 2010 and rebranded in 2017, it produces natural, unfiltered, and unpasteurised beers, ranging from its flagship $UMO APA to rotating IPAs, lagers, and stouts available across major UK supermarkets and its own taprooms
Mad Squirrel brew out of Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire, with a proper core range: $umo, their flagship hazy pale ale, alongside Hopfest (a gluten-free session pale), Citrik (citrus pale ale), Zealous (pilsner lager) and Roadkill, a NEIPA. They step outside that with limited releases too: Guava Lamp, a fruited sour brewed in collaboration with Brew York, bursting with guava, papaya and a splash of lime, and Earthquake, a West Coast IPA with pine and citrus alongside melon and berry notes. Brewed hazy, brewed in Hertfordshire, as they put it.
