The Indian Brewery Company was founded by Jaspal Purewal, who opened a bar and taproom on Livery Street in Birmingham in January 2017 after starting out with a small brewery in Warwickshire. It brews real ale and lager, including a beer called Birmingham Lager, alongside natural wines and low-alcohol alternatives. A second taproom and beer hall opened in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter in December 2024.
