Norfolk brewing since 1981, named for Parson James Woodforde, an eighteenth-century clergyman whose diaries were unusually enthusiastic about good food and good beer. Forty-odd years on, the barley still comes off East Anglian fields and the whole pitch rests on beer tasting of where it's from.
Woodforde's core range centres on Wherry ('Norfolk's most beloved ale', ranked 41st in the UK's top 50 beers) alongside Nelson's Revenge, Nog, Hazy IPA, Bure Gold, Admiral's Reserve, an alcohol-free 0.5, a Lager and a Pale Ale billed as a 'celebration of Norfolk'. Seasonal drops rotate in too: Lemon Drop, an August seasonal citrus pale ale, and the returning, award-winning Flagondry easy IPA. Sold in bottles, cans, mini kegs and custom cases, it's a proper spread from one of Norfolk's best-known breweries.
