WEST was founded in 2006 by Petra Wetzel, a Bavarian who fell in love with Scotland on a school exchange near Stirling. It's the only UK brewery producing all its lagers and wheat beers strictly to the Reinheitsgebot, the German Purity Law of 1516: British malted barley plus specialty malts from Germany's Weyermann Malz, hops mostly from Hallertau, and water sourced from Loch Katerine. The core cans line-up runs from ST MUNGO and MUNICH RED to HAUS PILSNER, WEST 4, HEIDI-WEISSE, BLACK and GPA.
