Walled City has been going since 2015 in Ebrington Square, Derry-Londonderry, set up by James and Louise Huey. The brewery and the restaurant share one building, so the beer is made in the same place you sit down to eat. A brewery and a night out in one stop.
Walled City Brewery was the first of its kind in the country when it opened, and Derry's first craft brewery in over a century. Head brewer James Huey trained for 12 years at Ireland's largest beer company before setting up here. Fifteen taps pour a rotating line-up that has taken in Kicks, a clean Magnum-hopped session beer; Boom, a citra pale ale; Foyster, an oyster stout made with native shells; Stitch IPA; Wit wheat beer; and 1689, a taproom-only imperial stout.
