The owners at Kirkby Lonsdale all share a passion for real ale and were keen to re-establish a local brewery. The town had brewing at its heart for centuries until the trade all but died out, so this is very much a revival. The Royal Barn taproom is on site.
Kirkby Lonsdale's beers span cask, keg and bottle. On cask you'll find Pennine Ambler, Imperial Dragon and Crafty Mild, while Devils Bridge IPA brings a big citrus hit from new world hops with a bitter finish. Royal Lager is brewed for keg, trade only. Their own venue, the Royal Barn, pours from 12 handpulls and 8 keg taps and stocks over sixty craft beers from around the world alongside their own.
