An independent brewery on Bonville Road in Brislington, Bristol, brewing everything on site. The business began life in 2006 as Great Western Brewing Company before relocating and rebranding as Hop Union in 2019 with a new brew kit. It also owns the Rising Sun pub in Frampton Cotterell. Its range includes Bloody Nora, winner of a National Gold Award in 2023, alongside Bonville Pale and Maiden Voyage.
Hop Union's line-up covers a lot of ground: Saint Arnold, a golden ale with tropical hops and Belgian yeast; Whakapapa, a fruity pale ale with white wine notes; the hazy, juicy Hop Fiction; and Bloody Nora, a golden-orange ale with citrus and tropical notes. Exhibitionist and Alpha Centauri round out the six. Between them they cover traditional cask ales and stouts through to a South-West Gold Winning lager and a National Gold Winning IPA: proper range, proper pedigree.
