Tucked away in an alley behind the high street and brewing since December 2016, Southey is - as they put it - Penge's finest and only micro brewery. They make classic ales, bitter and stout alongside hop-forward IPAs and Belgian and German styles. There's a taproom, and they sell Penge Gin too.
Southey are a small, passionate team turning out beer with traditional methods and a few modern touches thrown in. Everything's unpasteurised and vegan, canned and brewed in Penge, and they'll turn their hand to one-offs like the Field of Gold, a 6.0% Belgian Hybrid Ale. As they put it themselves: beer made locally, for the good people of Penge and beyond.
