Mad Cat started in 2012 because Peter Meaney was drinking mass-produced beer and decided to make his own instead. Based at Brogdale Farm near Faversham in Kent, it supplies pubs across north and east Kent and south-east London. As they put it, if you want rock-bottom-cheap and freezing cold, wrong place.

Mad Cat's line-up runs Golden IPA, 9th Life, Unsinkable Sam and Emotional Blackmail: a small, solid set to build a fridge around. They've also pushed into darker territory with 9th Life Noir, which they describe as their first black IPA, riffing on one of their own beers rather than starting from scratch. It's not a huge range, but there's a sense of a brewery happy to experiment when the mood takes them.

Delivery is charged by weight, number of items and postcode, and shown at checkout. Sent by APC in 3–4 working days, occasionally up to 5; non-alcohol items under 2kg go by Royal Mail. Free collection from the brewery Monday to Friday 9am–5pm, by arrangement. They can't send alcohol to Northern Ireland, the Scottish Islands, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight or BFPO addresses.
