John O'Groats Brewery sits right at the tip of the UK mainland, about as far north as you can go without getting your feet wet. They invite you to discover the story of how they founded a brewery up there, which is a fair enough hook for somewhere that remote.
Right up at the top of Scotland, John O'Groats Brewery offers a "varied and flavourful selection of ales," from their debut offering First Footing (4.4%) to the silky-smooth Deep Groat (4.8%). The line-up also runs to Golden Groat (4.0%, a collision of Old World and New World hops), Amber Groat (4.5%), Liddel Eddy (3.8%), Swelkie (4.0%), Duncansby (4.5%) and The Boars (5.3%) - a proper spread of strengths and styles from one of the UK's most northerly breweries.
