Hop Burns & Black is a bottle shop rather than a brewery, opened in November 2014 by Jen Ferguson and Glenn Williams, both born in New Zealand and long-term South Londoners. Two shops in south-east London, stocking craft beer alongside hot sauce and coffee. A proper local institution.
Hop Burns & Black build around what they call a celebration of the world's three greatest obsessions: craft beer (the Hop), hot sauce (the Burns) and natural wine. They curate and sell beer, cider and spirits from independent producers rather than brewing anything themselves, so think of it as a very well-chosen shelf, not a brewhouse.
