What has to be true before a price cut is called a deal here.
A deal on UK Beer Deals is one thing: a price at least 20% below the price the brewery or bottle shop itself shows crossed out on its own website. If the shop does not show the higher price in public, there is no deal, however good the price looks.
We never invent a was price, estimate what something should cost, or count a promo code as a discount.
We visit the public product pages of each brewery and bottle shop about twice a day and record the price and the crossed-out price shown there. The percentage on a deal is worked out from those two figures and nothing else.
Every deal page says when its price was last checked. Prices move between checks, so the shop's own page is always the final word. When a product leaves a shop's site, it leaves this site too.
Deals are cuts of 20% or more. On sale covers any price cut the shop shows, including smaller ones. All drinks is the whole catalogue, discounted or not.
Clearance sections and short-dated beer are labelled as what they are. Neither is a deal unless it also meets the 20% rule against the shop's own crossed-out price.
Nothing is listed, or moved up the page, because a shop paid. Some links to shops earn the site a commission and the site says so beside them; it never changes the price you pay or what is listed.
