Independent pub · London
The Wheatsheaf is an historic pub on Rathbone Place in Fitzrovia, London, a two-minute walk from Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road. A Nicholson's pub, it says the current building dates back to the early 19th century, and that there has been a pub on this site since 1738. It says Dylan Thomas and George Orwell were known to drink here in the 1930s. CAMRA lists three regular beers and describes stained glass in the windows and a narrow bar that widens out at the rear.
