The Tankard is a Victorian corner pub at 111 Kennington Road in Kennington, close to the Imperial War Museum. It says it has stood on the corner since the early 1800s, built beside the walls of the old Bethlem Hospital. The drinks list champions craft and cask, and Harvey's Sussex Best has been reported on cask. The airy interior has a contemporary feel, with a spacious first-floor roof terrace overlooking the museum. Food is hearty pub classics and Sunday roasts, and the pub runs quizzes.
