Independent pub · London
The Royal Oak stands in the centre of Columbia Road in Bethnal Green, London, and is an ex-Truman's pub built in 1923. It is Grade II listed, and CAMRA rates its interior as of special national historic interest, with the original counter and panelling carrying the names of Truman's beers in gilt lettering. The first floor dining room still has its inter-war bar counter. The pub serves cask ales, craft beers and wines, and is known for its bar snacks and Sunday roasts. There is a small white walled garden, which the pub calls a lively beer garden.
