The Rising SE1 is a pub in the heart of Elephant & Castle that calls itself SE1's queer pub. It says it has served the local community since 1936, and it is described as a typical interwar pub. Open to all, dogs included, it also says it is plant based and nut-free. Quizzes, live events and drag shows are held every Friday and Saturday. There are picnic tables at the front, and major sporting events are shown on the TV. Cask ale is not available.
