Kings Ransom is a Greene King pub on the side of the Bridgewater Canal in the centre of Sale, directly opposite Sale Metrolink station. It looks as old as the canal itself but was built in 1996. The pub is deceptively large, with two raised seating areas and a split-level body, plus extensive seating on the canal side, including a covered pontoon. The bar is fairly small but carries a range of handpumps. Regulars include Greene King Abbot, Greene King IPA and Timothy Taylor Landlord, alongside two guest ales. Dogs are welcome in uncarpeted areas, and there is a beer garden, a dartboard and live sport. The pub describes its food as traditional British pub food.
