Independent pub · London
The Hercules Pillars is a pub on Great Queen Street in Holborn, between Holborn and Covent Garden. The pub says it has kept its place there since 1703, and that the classical columns dividing the bar date from before the current building went up in 1961. It describes itself as a Cask Marque bar, with cask ales held to an independent Cask Marque standard alongside wines, spirits and cocktails. The kitchen serves British pub classics, from fish and chips to sausages and mash, and there is a Sunday roast menu. Live sport is shown on a projector and four HD screens, and the function room holds up to a hundred people.
