Independent pub · Manchester
The Head of Steam in Manchester's Northern Quarter is a craft beer pub at 16 Newton Street, on the edge of the quarter. It opened in November 2025 in a beautifully restored Grade II-listed building, formerly a tailor's shop. The venue has exposed brickwork and a striking circular central bar. There are 30 lines, 24 keg and 6 cask, spotlighting UK craft beers and Belgian favourites, with one of the cask lines given over to cider. A rotating range of cans and bottles is stocked too. Food comes from a burger pop-up residency.
