Golden Lion is a Joseph Holt pub on Manchester Road, on the Swinton and Clifton border. It is mainly a food pub after a major refurbishment in 2008. Holt's Bitter is the regular cask beer, and the long L-shaped bar also serves award-winning lagers and plenty of bottled beer and real ales. The menu has pub classics, wraps, hanging kebabs and vegan-friendly dishes. There is a large heated beer garden with TV screens, and the pub is dog friendly. A phone quiz runs on Thursday evenings, and live entertainment events are hosted.
