Independent pub · Chester
The Duck & Dagger is a bar and restaurant beside the Shropshire Union Canal in Chester, on the ground floor of the Steam Mill. This Grade II listed Georgian building dates back to 1786, when it was built as one of Britain's earliest steam-powered, canal-side flour mills. The bar is reached directly from the towpath. It has high tables at the front, sofas in a side room and real ale. The pub says it opened in July 2025. The menu is British-inspired, built around seasonal ingredients and classic flavours.
