The Butchers Arms

Independent pub · Cardiff

About the pub

The Butchers Arms is on High Street in Llandaff, Cardiff. The building was a butcher's shop with a slaughterhouse at the rear before it became a pub in 1880. Regulars include Grey Trees Drummer Boy and St Austell Tribute on cask, and the pub says it has a great range of premium lager and real ales from around the UK. Butty Bach Ale goes into the batter and the steak and ale pie, and the chips are home made. Inside are a bar area, snug and lounge, and at the rear is a partly covered beer garden. The Smoke Room displays pump clips from breweries whose beers have been served here.
