The Black Griffin is on St Peter's Street in the heart of Canterbury, near the historic Westgate. The pub says it keeps three real ales on rotation, with London Pride and Dark Star among the pumps alongside guest ales from Kentish favourites. The front bar has high wooden tables by the windows, and there is a large back bar. The pub describes itself as a lively local with a weekly quiz night, an open mic night and regular live music. It is popular with students, locals and tourists.
