Independent pub · London
Anglesea Arms is a traditional pub on Selwood Terrace in South Kensington. The pub says the site was originally a market garden and nursery dating back to 1712, and that Charles Dickens once lived at no. 11 on the street. It was one of the few free houses in London to sell cask ale in the early days of CAMRA and has appeared in many editions of CAMRA's Good Beer Guide. The bar keeps much of its history, including old panelling that shows its former division into smaller rooms. The building is Grade II listed. Dogs are welcome in the pub, though not in the restaurant.
